The sad state of 'internet marketing advice'
I wish I did not have to say what I'm about to tell you. You might find it offensive.
Or not believe it.
But it might also be a turning point in your life.
Let me explain...
Imagine someone getting career advice at the local high school. Life is lying ahead - with all its opportunities.
Now imagine that the student advisor told
every senior that came in for advice
that the single best career choice is to
become an ... engineer!
That engineers makes lots of money and have interesting
and challenging jobs - it's the one and only
career you should pursue, he tells everybody.
Now tell me, is that good advice?
Well, maybe for some of the math
wizards in the class, but is engineering a good
career for everybody? Of course not!
Any advisor giving every student the same
message is nothing but than a bad advisor!
Worse than bad - he's ruining the life of 97% of the high shcool graduates if they all follow
his ludicrous advice!
Crazy example, right? Never happens in real life?
Unfortunately it does.
You know where I'm going with this, don't you?
Here's the really offensive part: Almost all of the so-called internet marketing
gurus out there give this kind of terrible career
advice.
They tell everybody that one specific
model is the universal 'secret' to online wealth.
Here is one example:
"You must have your own infoproduct to sell!"
Have many times have you heard that?
Or
"The best way to earn money online is to make
lots of websites with Google AdSense on it"
Another one:
"I'll give you a complete step-by-step recipe
you can follow to your first online income"
It's disgusting! How can anyone advice somebody
else to follow a specific step-by-step plan
when they don't know anything about the reader's
personality and talents?
Ridiculous!
It's like a high school advisor giving everybody
a step-by-step plan to becoming a nurse, without
finding out first if nursing is a good career
fit for the student!
Here's the sad truth: most of the courses and
'recipies' from the internet "gurus" are actually
good and they do work. But only for a few people
with a specific e-personality!
But the "gurus" never bother to tell you first
whether you fit for the particular model they're
pushing on you.
Ask yourself this: Why don't they help you to know first
if their course fits? Why do they all sell their
own method as the one and only magic pill?
The cruel truth is - because they want to sell their stuff to
anyone and everyone. That's how THEY earn lots of
money.
You, however, are left having to buy
tons of courses and models before you finally
sort it all through and discover the one that
fits for your personality and strengths.
